Maid-Rite has been a franchisor of its famous loose meat specialty made to order sandwiches for over 80 years. Order Maid-Rite's catering services for your business luncheon or family event, or order Maid-Rite brand merchandise. Just remember, Maid-Rite... "Our Name Says It All". My boys had been to the Maid-Rite in Troy, MO, and had raved about the loose-meat crumbly burgers, but prior to today I was a Maid-Rite virgin, so when the diner of note opened up in a St. Louis suburb, I had to try it. I liked it! PATierney on Flickr: Posted a Photo
This was the biggest small pizza I think I've ever seen. I know, I know, what a day filled with junk food! And despite the fact that I started off the day with fresh orange juice and ended it with half a pear, I am feeling the effects of too much. Uck! PATierney on Flickr: Posted a Photo
I have been saving this can of Strongbow for a long time. I learned that while I hate beer (can't even swallow it, really), I do love hard cider. Scrumpy Jack is my favorite (and not available in our area), so Strongbow will have to do until our next trip to England. PATierney on Flickr: Posted a Photo
I braved the weather today (although, as you can see, the streets have been cleared) to get this shot of an old neighborhood pizza place that has been around for as long as I can remember. But thus far I've not had the pleasure of any of their food. I hope to remedy that soon. stlbites.com on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Wabash station in the suburban St. Louis town of Ferguson, MO was built in 1855. It is now a small restaurant and museum. Is this pre-Civil War station the oldest existing train station west of the Mississippi? |
